Parents please check your students marks in Student's Achieve. The code NHI means not handed in. There are many students not completing the assigned work and handing it in. This means poor marks which may result in big gaps in learning and difficulty when going on to high school without the foundation learning.

By checking this blog you know homework ( to be studied, not just written), assignments and test dates. By checking marks on Student's Achieve you will know your son/daughter's progress and be aware of assignments not being handed in.

After Christmas break deadlines were extended, but little additional work was handed in. Deadlines are necessary and learning to be organized in work habits is an essential skill to build.

Science Fair or Term Projects

Students are being given two class periods in the computer lab to research their Science Fair or term project topic and start the necessary research. After this they will have to work on their own time as no more class time is given. Science Fair proposals or research topics are due by Friday, Jan. 20. This is a firm deadline. Science Fair proposals will not be accepted after Friday.

Science classes

Friday's class was devoted to the term project. Students have a choice of:
1. doing a Science Fair project
2. doing a research report with a slide show presentation.
We discussed these and dates were given.
All science fair proposals and research report topics are to be handed in by next Friday, Jan.20.
